Students and staff collected an incredible 46,684 non-perishable items for Southwest Community Ministries as part of its annual Turkey Trot, which included a fun run yesterday! Way to go!

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS | At the National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC) conference, all three Waggener High School Academies were awarded model status, and the school received the Exemplary High School Leadership Team Award!



🚘 AUTO AFICIONADOS | Students in automotive programs across the state competed today in the Toyota Express Maintenance competition at Southern High School! Teams were judged on how fast and accurately they could rotate tires, change oil, and do other maintenance checks.
A big thank you to Oxmoor Toyota for providing the cars for today's competition, Snap-on Tools for providing competition prizes, and other partners including ASE Certifications, Jefferson Community & Technical College, ConsuLab, and the Kentucky Department of Education for helping make the event a success!

🔥 PATHWAY TO SUCCESS | Two recent Fairdale High School Fire pathway graduates are using what they learned in the Academies of Louisville at their new job working for the Anchorage-Middletown Fire Department! The grads are currently in the department’s Fire Academy.

💻 CYBERSECURITY BOOT CAMP | Fairdale High School students got an interactive crash course in cybersecurity from two experts. The founders of KC7 did cyber defense at Microsoft. They’re impressed with Fairdale’s cybersecurity pathway and say it’s unlike any other school’s—preparing students well for a future in the industry!

⚡️ FLASH DADS | The JCPS Flash Dads surprised students at Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts School this morning, helping the school kick off its day with lots of energy and fun!

🍲 LUNCH & LEARN | Nineteen student leaders from Indian Trail Elementary School got a treat today—a free, fancy lunch at Bonefish Grill. Students got a lesson with their meal from restaurant proprietor David Jenkins, who talked about leadership, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and needing math skills to figure costs and measurements for recipes. What an awesome real-world experience for these students!
